Jonathan Amable

Jonathan Amable is a consummate legal professional with over 7 years’ experience in Ghanaian corporate, commercial and finance law. Jonathan began his legal career at Bentsi-Enchill, Letsa & Ankomah, where he spent an aggregate of 8 years. During this period, Legal500 (in its 2024 review) established that Jonathan was (a) recognised by peers and clients as being a lawyer to watch, and (b) a leading associate with regular involvement in the Financial Institutions & Capital Markets team’s key work. He was also (a) ranked as a rising star in capital markets advisory services; (b) recommended as a lawyer who exhibits a high standard of work and superior work ethic in capital markets, commercial, corporate, and M&A transactions; and (c) recognised as a stand-out team member with experience in debt capital markets work. Jonathan was also shortlisted for the national rising star award at 2024 edition of the prestigious International Financial Law Review (IFLR 1000) awards.
 
Jonathan has extensive practice spanning project finance, asset finance, corporate finance, capital and money markets financing, banking and finance, regulated funds, fintech, ESG & sustainable finance, financial services licensing and compliance advisory, financial sector regulator advisory, derivatives and repurchase agreements, mergers and acquisitions, tax, corporate restructuring, corporate governance, property law, entertainment and sports law, and financial crime investigations. Some major and complex transactions he has worked on successfully during his career have involved entities such as Diageo, Societe Generale, Scancom Plc, SanlamAllianz, Letshego, JP Morgan Securities Plc, Citibank and Bank of Ghana, to name only a few.

Jonathan is also a prolific author who frequently publishes articles and short notes on relevant matters regarding the intersection of law, business, the financial sector, entertainment, and constitutional law issues.
